A review so far

I know it’s been a long time since my last post. I thought it was boring to keep writing “we pounded tires today”, “we pounded more tires today” and “today we pounded yet some more tires”. The six tires a day thing has been workin fairly well except that it rained all last week and our only 4 wheel drive vehicle has been mostly out of commission. We were still able to keep from being too far behind. There was only one day where we didn’t do any. It’s completely possible for us to catch up. I however have hit a complete brick wall (or tire wall hahaha). I hurt everywhere. I am beyond tired. We had a lot of hope in the beginning that we would have some help, which doesn’t look to be the case. We have had one or two come out so far which was nice but I am not expecting anyone to come out. This isn’t their project, it’s ours. Nobody else has an investment in this but us. Someday this project will be complete and someday we will be living their but until then I am going to be tired, sore, And I’ll probably spend some time crying in the shower.

On a good note we have started in the fourth level of tires. This is officially the last easy layer (easy ha!!!). It’s really starting to come together and look like it will be a house. It’s giving me some motivation to watch it go up like this.

  1. Well, I feel thoroughly chastised…I’m one of those people who really meant to come out and help, and life happened. I understand though, I can’t expect people to care about my books, they are my baby, not anyone else’s, and other people are more worried about their own lives, how busy they are, or how little money they have. I get it, it’s nothing personal. I’m really proud of you, though, Aysha, and I know you’ve got this. At the same time, don’t kill yourself. Take a break if you need to. We’re both workaholic perfectionists and sometimes you just gotta sit back and take a break. I’m learning to not feel guilty about it.

On a completely different topic, why does your house only have three sides? I notice the fourth side drops sharply into a…pool? I vaguely remember seeing a drawing of how this sort of house is put together, but I don’t remember what was there on the fourth wall or why it drops off into a pool. I’m interested if you could provide a link or something. Thanks so much, and keep pounding! You are inspiring people, even if its from afar and they don’t say anything.

    • Thank you for your encouragement!! I never meant to chastise anyone, except maybe myself. This is just a lot harder than I thought it would be and I knew it was going to be hard.

As for the other wall, that’s where the grey water filtration and greenhouse goes. The “pool” will be lined with concrete, lined with plastic, then filled with sand and gravel and topped with plants. There is a pipe that goes from the showers and sinks into it and a water line where water will be pumped out for the toilets.
