Keeping warm this winter

We have made some significant improvements to the house this year. We still have a bit more to do in order to meet our 2020 goals, but it’s looking really good that these things are going to happen!!!

One of these improvements included replacing our old wood burning stove. that barely heated the downstairs and always went out in the middle of the night, with a brand new pellet stove. This thing is at least twice the size of the old stove and definitely does a great job at heating the house. We have had it up and “running” for about two months, although it’s really only been used for about three weeks.

The new stove keeps the house much warmer than it did before. We haven’t even had to use the kerosene heater this year! In fact, as I write this it is 43 degrees F outside, and almost 70 degrees F in the house. I’m very happy with this. We are spending about $5 a day on the pellets (we bought a pallet of pellets for about $200), but last year we were spending $25 every other day on kerosene, so definitely a money saver here. I highly recommend pellet stoves for those of you who are like us and lack any sort of heating system in your house. I am very pleased with this purchase. It is so nice to not have to worry about keeping warm in the winter. I am very spoiled right now.
