DUCKS!

We got more ducks. We had been wanting more ducks, and while one of our ducks is interested in laying her eggs in one spot, she does not seem very interested in sitting on them. I am keeping them in her nest to see if she needs to get to a certain number before she does, but so far it’s a no go. Not a big deal here either. I am giving her a month to get her shit together before I’m going to start confiscating the again.

Meanwhile we had a chance to purchase 6 ducks of mixed breed, so we jumped on the opportunity. We had bought them from tractor supply so we knew approximately what kind of duck we would probably get. We just have to wait and see what they look like when they grow. Meanwhile, they are cute as hell.

This is actually a picture from when we bought them a couple of weeks ago. They are much bigger now and are starting to grow in their adult feathers. It looks as though we have two Pekins, two Rouens, and two Khaki Campbells. We are completely fine with that!! One of our favorite things to do is put them in their bathtub, fill it with water, and let them go to town in it. They love it!!! They are also in their awkward teenage years. They had just taken a bath in this picture so they look a bit rough, but this i how big they are now. After the cold snap they are going outside to the quarantine coop, where they will be until they are big enough to be out on their own.
